Just a reminder that the club store closes on Friday so if you want the new 2026 kit, place your order before time runs out.

To reiterate:
- If you want to place an order, you MUST create a login to access the club store. If you placed an order the 1st time, you already have your login information.
- You will be asked for your CC information
- If we don't meet minimums, (ex. 5 men's OR 5 women's OR 5 men's & 3 women's of the same style), the order will NOT be placed.
- If the order is not placed, your CC WILL NOT BE CHARGED
- Since Giordana can't hold your CC information more than 10 days, this store will close on FRIDAY the 31st. So, if you want to order don't procrastinate.
- All kits are sent directly to each member so expect a $15-20 shipping fee to be added to the price listed on each item

We'll reschedule this route for another day when there's an open spot on everyone's ride calendar.

Well, it's not looking too good for tomorrow's ride. Predictions are rain through the morning. I'll make a ride/weather update post by 630am tomorrow.

IF I do cancel the ride, I'm thinking I might post the same ride for Sunday morning as Sunday is looking pretty good right now.

@ Tim, 12-13mph depending on wind. Call that speed whatever you like. This is a rail trail gravel path, not blacktop.

Youre describing this ride as an A/B Pace to me that means 21+ mph, but then further down you describe it as a Party Pace..so which is it? And how fast is Party Pace?

For those joining the New River Trail Ride Friday, please note I've added the route to the calendar and most importantly I'VE REVISED THE START LOCATION TO THE TRAILHEAD AT CLIFFVIEW CAMPGROUND. The new address is in the calendar post as well. This will allow us to push north to Foster Falls Campground for a rest stop and stay under 50 miles total for the day. Cutting out the original 3 mile ride from Galax saves us 6 miles total and doesn't hurt the scenery any.

Heads up for tomorrows ride. If we do not have enough people for the A+ Im going to join Tonys group.

For the Platinum Ride please take note of the following:

1. The Platinum group will remain together except for 3 designated sprint segments. (Perry Rd, Mitchel Store, and final sprint down Rock Quarry). Do not chase or go off the front outside these places. Group will reset at the stop signs.
2. The group maintains a warmup pace from the start until we turn left on Fowler Rd.
3. If an individual is unable to maintain the pace of the group, they will drop back to the Gold group.
4. If you plan on pulling please ensure you have the route.

Bad news on our start location. The main road into Butner, (Central Ave), is closed at the tracks. We cannot pass through that area without taking the detour on W B and W C Streets to Central Ave. That is too long a detour!

I don't know how long Central Ave will be closed so this will change our route plans for Saturday.

Instead of heading northwest, we'll go northeast and still tackle some roads we haven't been on in years.

Due to the comments and advice I'm getting from people, I'm canceling this ride due to group safety concerns.
Hopefully, at some future point I can do a recon of the area and get a better handle of what the roads are like around Stone Mtn and make a better decision on a safer route.

Michael is at BS&G this weekend

In case there's any confusion after the rain postponement ... there are still two weekday rides this week. The Wednesday morning will start at 9:30 AM and the Thursday morning ride at 9:00 AM. Hope to see another great turnout!

The latest forecast looks like we may be in for rain (remember rain?) tomorrow morning. I'll send an update no later than 7 AM if there's any change to the plan for the Tuesday Morning Ride.

What a great ride we had, nice easy pace, plenty of chit chat, no one blowing up the ride. There were 10 of us. 41 miles in the beautiful countryside.

- There is NO fee to join this event. Just show up and ride!
- KNOW YOUR LIMITATIONS! Join the group that most closely matches the distance and pace you normally ride
- BE ON TIME! Check when your group is to start and be sure to arrive early
- There will be representatives at Mystic from the MS SOCIETY. Look for their tent if you would like information about the upcoming MS ride in September.
- CONTE'S BIKES will have a tent set up for easy adjustments before the ride PLUS will have mechanical support at the 1st rest stop in Rougemont for the 64-mile route
- This is a FUN ride celebrating friendships
- RIDER SAFETY is the prime objective. Please ride with that in mind.
- PIZZA after the ride supplied by the GYROS and TeamCBC
- We will have SAG support (Call JOHN FOX at 919-497-2784 if SAG is needed. Make sure to have his number)
- Rest stops are marked on the 3 RWGPS routes
- Last year we had 150+ riders attend. This year we expect that to increase. Mystic has plenty of parking to accommodate everyone.
- Please make sure to patronize MYSTIC. Let's show them how much we appreciate their hospitality in allowing us to use their location for our ride

Not sure if its worth it this evening to ride, this heat is incredable

Hi Ken. Im planning to be there tomorrow am, driving from WinstonSalem. Im guessing there are restrooms at the HG to change clothes? Looking forward to riding with the group.

Last year we had 150-175 riders. ALL CLUBS AND RIDERS ARE WELCOME TO JOIN!

This year we've added a 47-mile route along with the 63- and 31-mile routes like last year. We'll be offering 6 different paced groups as well so plenty of options will be available.
