President's Corner A word from VAS President - Dan Foutz
To all our supporters, athletes, coaches, sponsors, and volunteers.
Fall is almost upon us, and we have our ears laid back in planning the Star City Half Marathon, 10K and Kids Fun Run. Saturday, November 21st at the Rivers Edge North Parking Lot on Reserve Ave. The first race starts at 8:00 am sharp. The after party is always a blast with food from local restaurants, “A Taste of Roanoke”. The local D.J. Flex, and Beer Garden. This race also marks the third and final race for the Virginia Blue Ridge Triple Crown. What a great race to start your holiday season.
Please read our featured September “Spotlight Athlete”. Leigh Stover, Founder of the Star City Strong Foundation and Event Director for the Star City StrongFest. Her inspiration started with her first competition 12 years ago in the 2014 Virginia Commonwealth Games.
